Summary

About the Position: This position is with the National Guard Bureau, Joint Staff, NGB-J3/7, DOMES OPS & Force Development Director.

About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and organize supply support, services, and property accountability for operation of the staff.
  • Serve as liaison to obtain and provide information regarding personnel requests and functional requirements, and track the status of actions.
  • Develop recommendations to resolve substantive problems of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations.
  • Determine personnel staffing priorities and recruitment of personnel in the environment of competing resources.
  • Provide over watch of recruitment of Active Duty Operational Support (ADOS) personnel in Tour of Duty and assist divisions with the program as required.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     Minimum qualifications: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: create and administer policies and procedures for the administration; oversight of supply requirements and property accountability for the headquarters element such as overseeing issue of the equipment to include establishing property accountability, and ensuring turn-in of excess or inoperable equipment; support the organization's administrative requirements such as management of a manpower requirements document, management of space within an assigned footprint of the organization, in-processing and out-processing of personnel, and training and credentialing of new personnel.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-12 or equivalent).

    Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

    Education
