The Application Developer is responsible for design,

development, and maintenance of applications required by the Organization. In

addition, this position is responsible for creating the design and layout of a

website or web pages.

Essential Functions:

Collaborate with information systems manager, systems analyst, application developers, and end users to understand the gathering, definition, and documentation of system requirements.

Design application specifications based on consultations with information systems manager, systems analyst, application developers, and all others involved with project.

Convert specifications into high-quality, manageable scripts and web applications using coding best practices.

Create use-case test scenarios to identify errors and confirm application needs as well as troubleshoot and debug, as necessary.

Write and maintain documentation of changes to code, applications, specifications, user instructions, and operating procedures.

Revise applications for corrections, enhancements, or system environment changes based on code analysis and documented application revision specifications.

Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding access-control requests, errors, problems, or questions with applications.

Apply technical skills in the areas of Microsoft SharePoint, databases, web applications, including HTML development and CSS.

Apply Software Development Lifecycle best practices defined by the information systems department when designing, coding, testing, and implementing applications.

Design and develop customization of application systems, including dashboard-like graphical user interfaces, web-application parts, enterprise system content integration, InfoPath forms, and workflows using SharePoint or similar environments.

Develop web site content and graphics by designing images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.

Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps.

Maintain web site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards; editing submissions.

Create dynamic web experiences.

Perform quality assurance inspections of applications or web application sites.

Perform other duties as assigned.






Minimum Physical Requirements:


Mental Demands: Data analysis, high workflow management, high project coordination.

Finger Dexterity; using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.

Talking; especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Average Hearing; able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

Average Visual Abilities; ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery.

Physical Strength; sedentary work. Sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally (almost all office jobs).

Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required.

Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures.


TRAVEL: Ability to travel in performance of duties. ​

Minimum Qualification, Job Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred, or equivalent years of application development / web design experience.

Experience with Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint, Google Sites, SQL server, MySQL, and Web application design and development.

Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) phases including design, development, implementation, integration, testing, evaluation, and maintenance of applications.

Ability to handle large scale projects with competing priorities and deadlines.

Ability to generate, interpret, and communicate data from statistical reports.

Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.




For Web Design related duties:



  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with strong portfolio.

  • Up-to-date with the latest Web trends, techniques and technologies.

  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.

Verbal, written and technical presentation skills. ​
