Long Beach Community College District is seeking qualified individuals for an opportunity to work as a Tutorial and Supplemental Instruction Coordinator. We are seeking candidates who are organized, great communicators, and can multitask in a fast-paced work environment. We are looking for graduate from a four-year college or university with a major in education or a field relevant to job assignment; and at least one year of instructional support experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.   • Type of position:
    Full Time

  • Please note that LBCC employees are currently working remote due to the Covid-19 pandemic unless deemed essential personnel that must report to campus.

  • Location:
    LAC

  • Remote work eligibility will be determined by the hiring managers.

  • Salary: RANGE 35 ($5,031.47-$6,202.00)

  • Advanced salary placement:
    Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Eligibility list:
    We reserve the right to use an established eligibility list for vacancies in this classification. The eligibility list be valid for 12 months once approved by the Personnel Commission.

Duties

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, coordinates, organizes and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Learning and Academic Resources Tutorial and Supplemental Instruction programs; coordinates and provides extensive training to tutors and Supplemental Instruction Leaders (SI Leaders); ensures proper maintenance, preparation and/or submission of related reports, records, data and information; assists in budget oversight and monitoring of grant contract compliance; develops and maintains effective working relationships with tutors, students, faculty, District management and staff and others; and performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • If you participate in and fail any examination segment, you must wait a period of 90 days (~3 months) to test again for the same classification.

  • Supplemental Questions Screening: 11/1-8/2021
  • Final interview: TBD
