POSITION SUMMARY

As the largest urban conservation corps in California/the nation, the LA Conservation Corps maintains a large and dynamic portfolio of contracts, grants and other agreements with local, regional, state, and federal agencies as well as private funders that allow us to offer paid work experience/job training, educational opportunities and a full suite of wraparound services to underserved young adults (our Corpsmembers). Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Agreements Compliance is responsible for directing the organization’s compliance program, ensuring that the Corps is in compliance with all obligations as established by law, contractual agreement and agency policy.




ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

AGREEMENTS MANAGEMENT/OVERSIGHT

  • Draft and/or review all agreements and legal documentation; prepare contracting packages for funders.
  • Oversee agreements management system; prepare summaries.
  • Manage calendar of reports.
  • Oversee the analysis, maintenance, and communication of required records.




AGREEMENTS COMPLIANCE/QUALITY ASSURANCE

  • Conduct client file reviews and internal reviews to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Conduct monitoring reviews of subcontractors.
  • Act as liaison with external auditors for annual agency and 401k plan audits.
  • Lead all efforts related to funder audits, monitoring/certification reviews, site visits.
  • Interact with regulators on compliance issues.
  • Ensure that federal, state and local tax reporting compliance requirements are met.
  • Oversee a system for uniform handling and investigation of violations of company policies.
  • Independently investigate and act on matters related to Compliance; collaborate with Human Resources on areas that cross departments.
  • Direct policies/manage programs that encourage staff to report suspected fraud and other improprieties without fear of retaliation.
  • Conduct periodic training on company code of ethics for staff and board members.
  • Serve as co-liaison to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.




COMPLIANCE PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT/EDUCATION

  • Participate and/or assist in special projects, workgroups and committees.
  • Develop and regularly update policies and procedures and implement trainings to minimize or eliminate complianc.
  • Document, assess and manage organizational risks.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical skills (financial, planning, operational)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (from an accredited institution) in a related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in nonprofit contract compliance/management of varied funding source including government

Note: Additional years of experience can be applied to educational requirements.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • Salary $71,696.35 - $93,414.45 annually
  • Medical, Dental, Vision Benefits with 100% employer coverage of costs for employee and 80% employer coverage for additional family members
  • Three (3) weeks of vacation at hire; 11 paid Holidays and two (2) weeks of sick time accrued per year
  • 401k retirement plan with match of up to 4% of employees’ contributions
  • Remote work schedule negotiable
