HR Manager

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Location: Hybrid/Remote


The Human Resources Manager will oversee the functions of the HR Department for the company, including employment policies/procedures creation and management, employee relations, workers’ compensation, HRIS updates and maintenance, benefit design, implementation and administration, LOA and other HR responsibilities. The ideal candidate would be a strong HR Manager with the ability to create and maintain professional relationships.

  • Recruit to hire top talent for rapidly scaling company

  • Enforces Organization Policies and Procedures

  • Manage and own success of training program requirements


  • Ensures compliance with state and federal employment regulations

  • Build hire pipeline

  • Manage new employee onboarding and orientation

  • Partners with executive and management team on performance management practices within the organization

  • Processes and tracks all employee changes (e.g. pay, title, FLSA, bonus, etc.)

  • Processes employee separations and terminations

  • Utilizes and updates dual HRIS portals

  • Involved in Workers’ Compensation Activity and engages in resolution process

  • Oversees the performance evaluation process

  • Manages compliance training programs (e.g. anti-harassment, HIPAA)

  • Manages background check process for the company

  • Generates employment offer letters, manages job requisitions and workflow

  • Conducts investigations of employee problems/conflicts and recommends solutions, performance improvement plans, and terminations

  • Design, implement, and manage employee benefits program

  • Support special projects for the senior leadership team


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proven ability to work independently to resolve issues and provide solutions

  • Excellent problem-solving/listening skills, organizational skills.

  • Ability to multitask, to prioritize and to work under pressure

  • Able to work effectively with a diverse workforce

  • Excellent Customer service skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills must be able to empathize

  • Excellent word processing, spreadsheet, database and HRIS experience


  • Demonstrated experience in the field of HR, prior experience in CA employment practices highly preferred

  • HR certification preferred (SHRM or HCRI)

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

  • Extensive knowledge of employment practices, employment law (CA and Federal), workers compensation and benefits administration

  • Previous experience managing employee relations issues

  • 6+ years related experience in HR in a Generalist capacity
