The Content Sustainment Team is composed of highly talented architects, systems administrators, solution providers, engineers and project managers whose daily role is to maintain the integrity and performance of our customer's application services for both business and mission components while adhering to the operational tempo and security posture the agency requires. The team is innovative and is constantly looking for faster and smarter methods to advance the total product applications so the overall agency mission does not suffer. The team concentrates on a mixture of technologies to advance the mission including but not limited to: Virtualization, various advanced cloud-based technologies – Amazon Web Services (AWS), Dev-Ops, various Linux based & Windows based Systems, software based solutions, and high end product applications in order to maintain a cutting-edge. Specifically, this position supports the IA’s Foundational GEOINT Content Services team to provide quality cost effective solutions to the client. As part of this team, a Software Engineer’s expertise is needed to support a sophisticated enterprise cloud and hybrid cloud based environment, and to include an on-premises solutions. Responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and administering databases, including security, access, and documentation
- The DBA will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and testing of multiple databases for the project.
- Perform daily administrative tasks, including backup/recovery, performance optimization, space management, DB health, monitoring event logs, and troubleshooting to maintain a databases in support of multiple teams and client needs.
- Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply patches, as needed
- Writing automation to provision and manage PostgreSQL on Kubernetes
- Actively contribute to Crunchy PostgreSQL Container-related Open Source Projects
- Create and maintain SQL scripts for data extraction, migration and maintenance
Desired Core Skills:
- TS/SCI Clearance
- 5-8 years of related database analysis and/or administration experience.
